Hi, I’m Dr. Shelly Orlowsky
Maybe this is your first time seeking therapy, and you're unsure of what the process will look like. Maybe you've tried therapy before but didn’t feel a strong connection with your previous therapist. I want you to know that I understand how important the relationship between you and your therapist is, and I’m committed to creating a space where you can feel comfortable and safe.
Building trust takes time, and I believe in moving at your pace. Together, we can work through your challenges in a way that feels right for you. My goal is to make sure you feel heard, understood, and supported every step of the way.
A Bit About Me
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20 years of experience. My journey into specializing in reproductive mental health began with my own experience as a new mom.
After the birth of my first child, I found myself struggling with depression and anxiety. As a psychologist, I knew the importance of seeking help—but I didn’t know where to turn. It was overwhelming, and I remember thinking, "If I, as a psychologist, don’t know where to get help, what do other new moms do?"
After seeking treatment and working through my own challenges, I decided to dedicate my career to helping other women who felt just as lost and alone as I did. I wanted to ensure that no mom felt dismissed, isolated, or uncertain about her mental health. I wanted to empower women to feel heard, seen, and cared for, and to let them know that they are not alone.
Through my work, I strive to help women navigate the emotional and mental health challenges that come with reproductive transitions—whether that’s during pregnancy, postpartum, or beyond. I am passionate about educating women (and their providers and partners) about perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and giving moms the tools and support they need to prepare for pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, and motherhood.
Why I Specialize in Women’s Mental Health
Every day, I’m motivated by the belief that no woman should ever feel like she’s doing it all wrong or that she’s failing. I know how overwhelming it can be and how easily we can lose sight of our own mental health in the process. I want to help women not just survive, but to thrive—so they can feel confident, empowered, and truly connected to themselves and others.
